Hayley Schmidt, owner and creator of Beyondbeing Power Yoga, was first introduced to yoga at the age of sixteen, as a part of her training as a professional dancer. Initially drawn to the physical aspects of yoga, Hayley used the asana practice to help condition the body for the rigor of her profession. It wasn’t until some years later, when faced with severe hardship, that Hayley began to discover the authentic spirit of yoga. Moved by its healing powers, Hayley became determined to share the gifts of yoga with others - and so Beyondbeing Power Yoga was born.
Today, Beyondbeing Power Yoga serves the Perth yoga community with a wealth of knowledge - featuring a variety of classes, taught by a variety of experienced instructors from a rich range of yogic backgrounds. Under the mindful guidance of Hayley Schmidt, Beyondbeing Power Yoga is proud to represent an all-levels, ever-expanding family of practitioners as they learn to step into the flow of grace—and to tap into their full physical, spiritual, and healing potential.

As a professional dancer I have always used yoga as a tool to maintain flexibility and strength. Beyond Being classes provide an abundance of this but Hayley has also succeeded in helping me realise the importance and benefits of stilling the mind. I used to be so hard on myself when one day my tolerance for a posture was lower than the day before but since training with Beyond Being I’ve learnt to acknowledge when my pain threshold is lower and to let it be that way without judgment.
