About Us

A Space for Self-Discovery and Exploration

beyondbeing yoga is proud to represent an all-levels, ever-expanding family of practitioners as they learn to step into the flow of grace—and to tap into their full physical, spiritual, and healing potential.

Hayley Schmidt, owner and creator of beyondbeing yoga, was first introduced to yoga at the age of sixteen, as a part of her training as a professional dancer. Initially drawn to the physical aspects of yoga, Hayley used the asana practice to help condition the body for the rigour of her profession. It wasn’t until some years later, when faced with severe hardship and loss, that Hayley began to discover the authentic spirit of yoga.

At beyondbeing, we believe this spirit of yoga is a deep, inner wisdom of the true nature of the Self and the world.  This understanding is revealed through the cultivation of mindfulness, self-awareness, and compassion.  It is a holistic approach to living that encompasses the physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions of being.
